Who it is for

The arcade is for anyone who wants a good game in a spare five minutes or a long evening. Some cartridges are quick score-chasers you can learn in seconds. Others are full adventures with stories, several endings and saves that last for weeks.

Every game was written for this arcade. The look is a glowing old-style cabinet screen, and all of the music and sound is made live in your browser.

The three shelves

ARCADE

Pick-up-and-play games you can learn in seconds and chase high scores in for months: Serpent, Blockfall, Wallbreaker, Fizzwick, Star Raid, Wyrmfall, Net Paddle.

ADVENTURE

Longer games with stories, big worlds and saves that last, from stealth and survival horror to town building, creature raising and a lane battle arena: Thornback, Hollowbrook, Ward Infinite, Contract Zero, Ember Trail, Ward Nine, Stone Ranch, Silent Courier, Nightgrid, Coldwire, Oskervale.

BOARD & CARDS

Classic tables against the computer or a friend on the same screen: Phosphor Gambit, Checkers, Star Hops, Broken Hearts, Vines & Slides.

How it works

Free, no account. Every game is free to play. Nothing asks for a name, an email address or a password.

Saves stay in your browser. Progress, high scores and settings are kept in your browser's own storage on your device. They are not sent to us. The flip side is that saves do not follow you to another device or browser, and clearing your browser data removes them.

Three save slots. Every game with progress offers SLOT 1, 2 and 3, each showing a summary, play time and when it was last played. Trophies and high scores are shared across the slots.

Keyboard, touch or gamepad. Arrows or WASD move, Z, X and C are the A, B and C buttons, and Esc or P pauses. On a phone or tablet a see-through joystick and buttons appear over the game, and a USB or Bluetooth controller works once you press any button on it. Every game names its buttons for the device you are using.

Daily challenges. Every game except Net Paddle has a daily challenge. It is built from the date, so everyone plays the same run that day, and it always plays on NORMAL difficulty. Your daily best is kept separately and never touches your saved progress.

Tickets, levels and prizes

All the games feed one arcade-wide layer of rewards. You earn tickets for trophies, for mastery stars, for finishing a daily, for setting a new best, for time played and for weekly challenges. Every ticket also counts toward your arcade level.

Each game lists three mastery goals, bronze, silver and gold, on its shelf card and before you begin. Weekly challenges come three at a time, are the same for everyone, and reset on Monday. The prize counter sells cosmetics only: screen tints and cabinet frames for the whole arcade, plus skins, trails and palettes inside individual games. Nothing you buy there changes how a game plays.

Accessibility and comfort

SETTINGS holds sound, difficulty (EASY, NORMAL or HARD), text style and an A/B button swap. CONTROLS remaps keys, resizes the touch pad or moves it for left-handed play, and turns on high-contrast text. SCREEN switches the glowing tube effect off. MOTION follows your device's reduced-motion setting, and REDUCED removes flashes, shakes and blinking in every game.

Games show danger with words or shapes as well as colour, and key moments and dialogue are read out to screen readers.

Who makes it

Yair Arcade is made by an independent developer. There is no studio or publisher behind it. New games and updates arrive over time; the shelf marks them NEW or UPDATED.
